For standard M14 dropping operations, the Mk 87 range is equipped with a range launcher. The Mk 87 is similar to a grenade launcher in the early 20th century. A short cylindrical steel tube is approximately 8.5 inches long and 2.75 inches in diameter (1 inch at the connecting end).
