When purchasing a visitor ticket at the Visitor Welcome Center, do not approach the gate if you have a personal firearm. Remove weapons from installation prior to visit. Under no circumstances shall illegal firearms, batons or knives be carried between the arms of any occupant of the vehicle. All weapons, except ordinary pocket knives, multi-tools or similar tools, must be carried in the trunk of the vehicle or in places not directly accessible.

An illegal knife is defined as any knife with a blade longer than 5 ½ inches and/or double-edged. Also, any hand tool designed to cut, strike or throw, such as daggers, dirks, stilettos, poniards, Bowie knives, swords and spears. This definition does not apply to household utensils and other similar articles when used for their intended purpose, such as kitchen knives, ice grinders, scissors, butcher's cleavers, carpet knives, woodworking tools or tomahawks. These items may also be exempt if they are used for ceremonial or sporting purposes.
