The CZ P-10 family has grown. CZ started with the P-10 C and decided to expand the family to cover subcompact and full-size firearms. The CZ P-10 C is called a compact gun, but I like to consider it less than full size. It's bigger than the Glock 19, with more grip. It should not fall into the compact pistol category in my opinion. I won't lie, I wish there was a slightly lower grip version of the P-10 C like FN did with the 509M. CZ knocks it out of the park with their other two guns. CZ P-10 F and CZ P-10 S. This new family comes with some significant changes.
P10c Vs P10f
The triggers have changed slightly since the production model "Gen 1" P-10 C. They are now longer, closer to the trigger guard. The safety blade or "dingus" is also shortened and has a slightly smaller profile compared to the Gen 1 dingus.

"Gen 2" model guns don't have much trigger pinch if you lower the trigger into the triggerguard. It is more maneuverable and maneuverable than the P-10 C Gen 1 production model. The trigger also feels a bit smoother on the Gen 2 models. They are still at the same poundage pull.
CZ introduces the optic ready P-10 series of pistols. Optic ready pistols are manufactured by CZ-USA and not yet manufactured by CZUB. Pistol optics are currently a more popular trend in the United States than anywhere else. To stay ahead of your game as a pistol manufacturer in the United States, you need to have an optic ready series of pistols. This is the only way to compete in the market.
Traditionally, the P-10 C had to have a unique optic cut for each optic. Prices for these aftermarket services typically range from $100 to $200.
CZ USA makes an Optic Ready System that has a flush fit plate as a placeholder for their Optic Ready Plate System.
Cz P 10 Series
The system itself is well designed and looks closer to a real optic cut than most other manufacturers' optic ready plate systems. The depth of the optic plate is about the same if not deeper than most aftermarket RMR cuts. This allows the optic to be more true to the pistol instead of creating too much height on the bore like the Glock MOS system. I think CZ has one of the best optic ready systems on the market to date.
Factory CZUB plates occasionally appear on the CZ-USA website. The CZ Custom Shop sells its own optic plate, but it doesn't have the nice flush fit look of the factory plate. There are several companies that have found a way to import factory plates from the Czech Republic. There is another company in the market that has taken the factory plate and made a local copy to make it easy to find. CZ-USA is usually out of stock. Optic Ready Platform I think one of the only downfalls of the CZ P-10 series is the availability of optic mounting plates. This void created a micro-industry around the product line.
These photos also illustrate the new style of sights that CZ-USA is putting on the guns. CZ-USA made guns do not have the check made women's step down slide profile. They have steel sights and an HD tritium/orange dot on the front sight post and black on the rear. This is a huge improvement over aluminum sights on Czech-made guns. The Czech Gen 2 guns were similar to the Gen 1 P-10 C models.
The Gen 2 platform has a new magazine release. This change came from weaker people who couldn't get past the break-in-period of the Gen 1 ambidextrous magazine release. I found the ambiguous magazine release to be very functional and not a problem for me to engage. A very attractive feature is that the pistol is 100% accurate.
The Hk, Sig, Cz, Walther, Beretta Thread
CZ decided to release a larger, more tactile magazine that was unidirectional. This can be reversed for a left-handed shooter. Now the system is not perfect. As a right-handed shooter who uses the new magazine release, I find the Gen 2 magazine release easier to use and quick.
This makes manipulations with the left hand more difficult. Making changes like this is a double-edged sword. I and most of my colleagues agree that this change was necessary to make people happy, but this change made many career shooters unhappy. Thanks to all the crybabies who ruined a good thing.
Magazines must change as magazine releases change. It's the same manufactured magazine body, but CZ has added an additional laser cutting operation. Now the magazines look like the rear bumper of a 93 Honda Civic wanna-be race car. I call them lightning holes! A new magazine release position is required with a new magazine release.
The new magazines will work with the P-07, P-09, P-10 Gen 1 and P-10 Gen 2 series pistols. Here's a problem for everyone who has bought dozens of original P-10 C magazines. You now need to find a machine shop or laser cutting service that can convert your magazine so you can use it on the new platform; If you want to switch to a Gen 2 pistol.
Gangs All Here!
New P-10 Gen 2 guns ship with steel guide rod assemblies. I like this change over the plastic captured guide rod systems traditionally installed on the P-07, P-09 and P-10 C Gen 1 models. A strong guide rod increases the mechanical accuracy of the gun. Note that the assembly is secured with a screw (all P-series models, except the P-10 S). The introduction of screws into guide rod systems is frustrating. I recommend red loctite on this allen screw.
Barrels on Czech-made firearms are cold-hammer-forged at the CZUB factory. An amazing facility that makes some of the finest gun barrels in the world. CZ-USA barrels are made in the USA and are not cold hammer forged. These US made barrels are currently only found on OR Gen 2 models. These are high quality made barrel. I think the only noticeable difference is the much higher round count barrel life. CZUB barrels are easily 100K round count barrels. I personally only have about 27K rounds through my SP-01 and no signs of wear or degradation. It is very interesting to see the round count comparison between US and Czech made barrels.
The P10 S is a subcompact series pistol from CZ-USA and CZUB. Has excellent 12 + 1 potential. The P-10 S has the same dimensions as the P-10 C, so it can also be used in the P-10 C holster. After carrying the P-10 S for extended periods, I can confidently suggest that this gun in the P-10 C holster conceals better than the P-10 S specific holster. This is because with most male body types, the pelvis does not support a small-muzzle pistol and the butt of the gun faces away from the end user's body. Carrying the P-10 S in the P-10 C holster maintains pelvic region contact, keeping the gun more vertical on the belt. Outside of this reference, the gun functions like the P-10 C.
Do not install the P-10 S slide on the P-10 C frame with the compensator. The recoil spring assembly for the P-10 S will not fit inside the P-10 C. The gun is slightly faster than the P-10 C when firing. The bottom of the factory magazine is too short to wear most of the pinky. I recommend an aftermarket magazine base plate for the P-10 S to increase grip length. S is the ANVL weighted base pad in Fig.
P09 Mag Base Pad For P10 C
The P-10 F is a beautifully made pistol. The P-10 F has a slightly longer grip than the Glock 17, making the P-10 F series a better choice for duty style and pistol size. It has two 1913 Picatinny slots. Not sure which of the two it is for, as I can't see any lights that fit specifically in the second slot.
The P-10 F is similar to the P-10 C, but longer in slide length and grip length. The P-10 F magazines fit and work well in both the P-10 C and P-10 S. I find it to be a great optic host, as well as a great range gun. In my opinion, the P-10 F is slightly larger, comfortably and successfully concealed with casual clothing in the warmer months. I am sure
